Introduction

Kurunegala Plantations Limited is a government owned plantation Management Company operates in Kurunegala and Gampaha districts. The main role of the company is to manage the plantations in productively and profitably. According to the company ‘secondary data there are 80 divisions managed by the company. Each deviation has an Officer in charge (OIC) who overlooks the activities of the division with a workforce. The company has encountered a big problem to retain these OICC, therefore the company wanted gets an advice from consultancy firm to find the ways to satisfy OICC and retain them.

It was decided carry out a survey to find reasons for this issue. This will facilitate to find the reasons behind the OICC leavening the company and to improve level of satisfaction.

In business, good decision making requires the effective use of information. This assignment examines verity of data sources and develops techniques in relation to data storage. Further, use the tools available to create and present useful information to the client.

According to the graph majority of employees falls into age category of 20-30 and 51-60. This means most of the OICS are leavening in between

Conclusion and Recommendation

Based on the survey finding regarding employee satisfaction, it can be concluded as survey is one of the best methods to collect appropriate data for the above problem which helps to solve it in a proper manner. So in order to solve the problem occurred at Kurunegala Plantations Limited. Problem is the OICC turnover rate is high in the company. In order to find solution for the problem a survey has been conducted. To find what made the OICC unsatisfied a questionnaire has been prepared and distributed to collect responses which will help to find the exact reason for the problem. An interview also has been conducted.

And also graphs are prepared to find the factors effecting employee satisfaction. Information for decision making is found by the mean, median and mode. According the survey most of the employees were dissatisfied because of salary, leaves, quarter’s facilities and job recognition by solving these problems it will help the company to minimize the OICC turnover rate. And at the end of the survey KPL can solve and give proper solutions the problem which will help KPL to reduce the leaving of the employees and to satisfy the OICC. So conducting this survey will help the organization to identify the issues for employees’ dissatisfaction which will help KPL to be successful in the field operations.

KPL should open opportunities to improve the OICC carrier development programs; right now they feel that being isolated in the field. According to the company’s financial capability this study recommends to give at least Rs 10,000 increment per month then it will become competitive salary with other competitors.
